Series Rules and Structure

Series Structure

Races will be held on Sundays with the race weekend starting at 1700 GMT .

Points races will be 30 minutes in length. The points race will then be followed by a 20 minute fun run in reversed grid order. The fun run will not count toward the points series.

8 Points races will be run in the series. The top 6 race's points will be counted toward the series championship. This will allow real life to interfere with the series and not adversely effect one's chances of maintaining their standing in the points championship. Conversely, for the person who attends all the races they can have a stinker or two and not be penalized.

Points will be awarded based on final  position at the end of the race, capturing the pole, and longevity on track.  They will be awarded as follows

1- 10
2- 8
3- 6
4- 5
5- 4
6- 3
7- 2
8+ - 1

+ 1 point for driving 75% of the leader's race laps AND being on-track to see the checkered flag.  Each round will have the same 1 point bonus.

+ 2 point for pole

Registration for the series will be necessary to maintain the structure and variety of cars in the series.

In order to maintain a mixture of vehicles on the track the vehicles are initially being limited to 3 drivers per manufacturer. When signing up for the series drivers are to list their top 3 vehicles in order of preference. The cars will be assigned on a first come first served basis so early registration is advised. If a person's first choice is full then they will be assigned their next choice for vehicle. If that is full then they will be assigned their third. The drivers will be added to the Cars and Drivers List as they are assigned.

When a driver signs up for the championship, he/she shall choose a car and stay with that car for the entire championship.  Switching to a different car shall impose a 5 point driver's championship penalty and that driver shall only score half points (individual and team) in the following race.   This can only be done 2 times maximum, providing that there is an open slot to move to in the Car and Drivers List.

All VSCR rules and regulations will be followed. Please be sure to read the full rules list prior to joining the races. A list of the Rules and Regulations can be found here.

League Administrators shall have the final say in any dispute. Series rules may be changed based on league needs and desires. League Administrators shall announce any changes via forum post prior to those changes being put into effect.
